From “Liberey” to learning centre

The Münstergasse Library is the oldest library in the city of Bern. Following extensive renovation in 2016, it was redesigned as a contemporary learning centre with a historic and modern reading room. Today, it is a popular learning centre in Bern's old town with more than 300 study places and a small but excellent Bernesia library.

The 45-minute tour focuses on the history and architecture of Bern's first university library and takes visitors through the various public rooms.
